Claudia LeBoeuf – Author, Wife, Homeschool Mom

Claudia is a former aerospace engineer turned wife and homeschooling mom to five wonderful children. The writing bug hit while the family lived in Chile, South America. Her partiality for Charles Dickens inspired a keen fondness for well-written villains. She hopes readers will enjoy the villains she created for her debut science fiction novel, “Fields of Prosperis.”

Claudia and her family now reside in central Kentucky, where she enjoys helping out with the alpacas and other farm animals.

As a child of the sixties/seventies, Claudia thirsts to restore a severed inheritance, in order to pass forward living roots. The relentless forces of supposed progress led to the exchange of the natural for the synthetic, beauty for efficiency, faith for government, and the handmade for the manufactured. These issues form the backdrop of her writing. Her character-driven fiction strives to explore the conflict created when humans are forced to live under un-Godly cultural systems.

Degrees:

B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.

Experience:

Thirteen years as an aerospace engineer and project manager at NASA (Glenn Research Center and Goddard Space Flight Center).

Courses, workshops, conferences and activities through the Institute for Writers, Jerry Jenkins Writers’ Guild, the Serious Writers’ Club, Word Weavers and Realm Makers.

Awards:

NASA GSFC ‘John H. Boeckel Excellence in Engineering Award,’ 1986.

NASA Exceptional Service Medal, 1987.

First place in the Science Fiction Category of the Mountain Brook Fire ‘2020 Fire Awards,’ 2020.

Books:

“Fields of Prosperis” will be published by Elk Lake Publishing in early 2025.

Southern Elegance Alpacas, https://southernelegancealpacas.com, which I operate with my daughters. We produce all natural alpaca/sheep/angora rabbit fiber products, as well as other home goods, such as beeswax candles and needle crafts.
